Søren Mussmann
Football

Søren joined People In Sport as an agent/scout on 1/5/2017. Søren’s primary focus will be on youth.

Background

Søren has a background as a professional footballer, as well as having been a People In Sport client throughout his active career. His professional career started at SønderjyskE, where he made his debut in the Danish Super League at an early age. He has also been a member of the Danish national youth squad. After 7 years at SønderjyskE, he progressed in his career to the Italian club FC Pro Vercelli. In January 2017, after several years struggling with injuries, Søren decided to retire.

Strengths

Can draw on his own experience from his career, and he has a good basis to assist and advise youngsters in the tough world of football. On the basis of his own experience,  he can also assist with the challenges of changing from youth to senior ranks, and encountering foreign countries.

Philosophy

Potential is one thing – how it is used is something else. If you have a talent, it does not automatically mean that you will achieve success. It is therefore essential that you work hard and persevere with your aims and ambitions, because eventually hard work will pay off.

 

Mads Winther
Partner

Mads is the founder of people in sport. He has been dedicated to the sport all his life – both as an active sportsman and as manager and board member for clubs in both the top leagues for handball and football. Educationally, Mads has an MSc, and he also works as a lecturer at the Business School.

Strengths

Mads acts as a coach and advisor for both handball and football players. It is based on the experience of coaching athletes and top managers for many years and as a licensed FIFA agent.

Background

With a management background from the consulting branch, Mads is particularly strong on strategies and sales. Mads has been the driving force at many places behind the development of sponsorship concepts. He was also central in the development of strategies for SønderjyskE, for example. Currently Mads is senior partner at the consulting firm intenz and also the anchorman at people in sport.

Philosophy

Mads’ philosophy is that attitude and motivation are crucial to the results we create, and that we can help to find the necessary motivation to deliver top results.

Michael Hansen
Partner

Michael Hansen joined as a partner at people in sport on 1 January 2008, and sits as the lead for PINS Handball, where he is also the agent for many women’s and men players.

Background

Michael is a trained accountant and he has worked as a financial director and has also been a computer consultant. He has always worked with handball, first as a player at Skjern Handball, and later at VRI. He suffered a back injury and chose to be a handball coach, where he coached both men and women in Aarhus and Viborg. From 2003-08, Michael worked as Director of Sport at Viborg HK. During that period, Viborg HK achieved eight gold medals, including the coveted Champions League trophy.

Strengths

As a player, Michael was focused on handball being a fun game with speed and endless opportunities to develop oneself and the team. As a coach, Michael was motivated to get a group of different people to work together through efficient handball, as well as achieving the goals. Furthermore, as Director of Sport, Michael was motivated to develop and optimise the sporting strategy and create a unique team based on the club’s vision, mission and values. In addition to a large network in Danish and international handball, Michael’s strength is a broad knowledge of handball combined with knowledge of tax and finance.

Philosophy

Michael’s philosophy is that you can easily achieve your goals if you are focused, work hard and are in good spirits. Be humble and persistent. Give others a smile, you will get one back.

Michael Stensgaard
Partner

Michael is a partner at people in sport and has been involved since the beginning. He has a sporting background as a professional football goalkeeper for, among others, FC Copenhagen, Southampton FC and Liverpool FC.

Background

Michael ended his sports career in 2001, and today he holds a law degree specialising in negotiation. He has taught negotiation both as an external lecturer at the University of Copenhagen and for many large companies. Michael also won the big INC International Negotiation Competition for law students from around the world, and he has served as a judge in both the Danish and international competition.

Strengths

As a jurist and licensed FIFA agent, Michael helps many athletes with contract negotiations. Michael represents a rare fusion within advising athletes: Own experiences combined with education.

Philosophy

Michael is passionate about teaching players the ‘key to success’ and he knows nothing better than seeing them succeed on the big stage and achieving the goals that were set many years earlier. Therefore, Michael’s philosophy is that opportunity is seized by setting ambitious goals, focussing on the right thing every day and developing the ability to ‘want to do the most’.

Jesper Ørskov
Football

Jesper joined people in sport on 1 January 2011, and is today responsible for the youth- and senior players. Moreover he is overall responsible for Holland, and has lived in Amsterdam since 2017.

Background

Jesper has a Higher Commercial Examination (HHX) and has previously worked as a sales representative for an international company in Denmark and the Middle East. Through the job as a sales representative and agent and all the travel activity involved in much of the world, Jesper has good skills in national and international communication and also has a vast network.

Strengths

Talent work is Jesper’s great passion and his ambition is to give players tools so that they are able to achieve optimal results on and off the pitch. In October 2011, Jesper passed the FIFA agent examination and is now a certified football agent.

Philosophy

Jesper’s philosophy is very much about being present in the moment. You have to stay focused on the things you have an influence on, as well as to follow the plan you have laid to fulfil your dreams.

Steen Vibe Träger
Football

Steen joined people in sport as a manager/scout on 1 October 2009. Steen’s main focus is to scout, as well as to keep in touch with footballers on Zealand in Denmark.

Background

Steen has a background as a professional footballer in AB and Herfølge. Steen played football at the highest national level since the age of 15, and therefore knows all about the challenges young players face in terms of career and education. Steen’s active career ended with Herfølge’s promotion to the SAS League. Alongside his career, Steen qualified as a primary school teacher in Danish, sports, history and social studies, and he is now employed at Brøndby IF’s Sports continuation school.

Strengths

Steen’s ambition is to help players with tools that enable them to combine career and education in such a way that players will be able to achieve their objectives satisfactorily.

Philosophy

Steen’s philosophy is that great talent is not enough to create great players. It is necessary at an early age to make yourself aware of what the goals require and what you are willing to give. So a good mix of desire, motivation and talent are the key to success in a tough business.

Casper Grønn
Football

Casper Grønn joined people in sport September 1st, 2016 as a players agent.

Background:

Casper has an educational background within business, economy and statistics and also as a forwarding agent. Before joining people in sport he worked as a salesman at a large Danish freight forwarding company. Casper also has a background as a professional football player in the Danish 1st Division with more than 200 matches and experience as a youth coach. Due to his experience, Casper possesses strong communication and negotiation skills.

Strengths:

As a former salesman, player and coach Casper’s ambition is to give the players the best possible counseling with their career and with negotiation of contracts. It is a combination of own experience and the drive to help others succeed.

Philosophy:

You should never settle and never give up on your quest to reach your goals.

Frank Henriksen
Women’s handball

Frank Henriksen joined people in sport on 15 August 2011, and he advises and recruits players on the women’s side.

Background

Frank comes from Bording and has previously worked as a sales representative and sales manager. For 20 years he has served on the board of Boarding KFUM Handball, where he helped with the merger of the first teams from Bording KFUM and Ikast FS, which became Ikast-Bording EH in the summer of 1999. Here he acted as the unpaid Director of Sport until 2006, when he got the job as full-time director of the club. In 2009, IBEH was sold to FC Midtjylland, and Frank was Director of Sport here until 1 July 2011. From 2007-2011, he sat on the Division Association and also gained a seat on DHF’s Rule Committee, as well as the European Women’s Committee under DHF. In the summer of 2008, Ikast Municipality opened the doors for a new sports college, and Frank was the chairman until he stopped at FCM. He regarded it as a great pleasure to be the “first mover” in this talent project.

Strengths

During his twelve years at Ikast, Frank has been motivated by achieving the goals that the club and the squad had set. He has worked with some of the handball world’s biggest stars and he therefore considers being goal-orientated and hard-working as a natural part of everyday life. During his time at IBEH and FCM, Frank has helped to win 1 Danish championship gold, 3 European Cup finals and 2 Cup champion titles.

Philosophy

Frank’s philosophy is that you have to set goals and focus 100% on them. If you spice life up with a good disposition and a smile, you will get the same in return. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Martin Felbo
Football

Martin joined people in sport on 1 September 2014 as coordinator for Michael Stensgaard. He handles all forms of coordination of sales efforts to clubs and agents at home and abroad.

Background

Martin is an MA in Spanish and business communications, and has a BA in Business Language (Spanish and English). During the past 10 years he has worked in sales and management within, among others, the travel industry, media, IT and events. He has lived and worked in Spain for many years. Furthermore, during the past 12 years he has worked as a volunteer in Lyngby FC as, among other things, team leader for the club’s first team.

Strengths

Coordination, structure and language knowledge are Martin’s great strengths. SOS is among his favourite words, and for him it means System and Organisation Structure. His knowledge of the world of sports, as well as to players, coaching staff and other leaders is also extensive.

Philosophy

T.E.A.M. – Together Everyone Achieves More is Martin’s basic philosophy. He works towards the goal of achieving it EVERY time and would like to help others to achieve their goals through planning, coaching and evaluation of goals and efforts.

Kenneth Thrane
Men’s handball

Kenneth started at people in sport on 1 October 2009, where he works with men’s players – mainly young talents.

Background

Kenneth has a background as a League player in, among others, Åarhus, Kolding, Skanderborg and Team Tvis Holstebro. Kenneth has also played on all national teams from Y to S. From 2004-09, Kenneth was part of the sports management at Skanderborg Handball, where they had a strong focus on the development of young talents both on and off the court.

Strengths

Through his job as Director of Sport at Skanderborg he has a thorough knowledge of everything concerning contracts, negotiations and selection of players. Kenneth is also a qualified estate agent and during 12 years in the estate agent business he has participated in daily negotiations between the two parties, and for the 3 last years he has also been responsible for personnel appointments and budgets. In addition to the job at people in sport, Kenneth is employed as a property manager in Skanderborg.

Philosophy

Kenneth believes in openness and honesty as important elements in order for the club and the player to have good collaboration. Planning and structure of everyday life creates the best opportunities for success and fulfilment for both the player and the club.

Kenneth Jensen
Men’s handball

Kenneth Lejsgaard Jensen joined people in sport in February 2012, and works primarily with men’s handball players.

Background

Kenneth began his career in Aalborg, where teacher training and the first year as a handball coach took place. He is a qualified Diploma Coach under the Danish Handball Federation (DHF) and has Europe’s highest coaching qualification, European Handball Federation Master Coach. Kenneth teaches on DHF’s high performance coaching programme and holds many lectures and inspirational courses. Coaching activities have been Kenneth’s job over the last 7-8 years, and his career has gone from Aalborg DH to Silkeborg-Voel KFUM to the FCM, where there were many finals and medals both nationally and internationally. The culmination was in the summer of 2011, when they won both the Danish championship and European Cup title.

Strengths

Based on his coaching background, Kenneth has a thorough knowledge of players’ development and motivation. He is experienced in setting ambitious goals and making plans for their achievement.

Philosophy

Kenneth is a great believer in realising potentials. If a person is ready to give their lifeblood, effort and will, there is always a way to achieve their goal.

Nikolaj Broström
Men’s handball

Nikolaj Broström joined people in sport in February 2012, and primarily works with men’s handball players.

Background Nikolaj has previously been employed as a high performance coordinator at Horsens Municipality but is now fully dedicated to people in sport. He previously played handball at League level for many years and represented, among others, Helsingør IF, Virum Sorgenfri, Ajax/Farum and Ajax Copenhagen. Since 2007, Nikolaj has been a sparring partner and coordinator for the Japanese Handball Federation and in this connection he has built up a large network in international handball. He has, among other things, participated in many international championships together with Japan’s national men’s A-team.

Strengths For many years Nikolaj has worked with talent development in a wide variety of sports and gained relevant experience and knowledge in advising clubs, coaches, parents and high performance participants.

Philosophy Nikolaj’s philosophy is that the driving force in a high performance athlete’s life must be commitment and joy. It also requires a structured daily life, an individual action plan, as well as serious collaboration partners who support the player towards the goal and top performances.

Lars Henneberg

Lars Henneberg joined people in sport on 1. september 2015, and works as an agent and adviser on the women’s side.

Background

Lars has a bachelor degree in financial management, which has given him knowhow in the areas of personal finances, contract- and tax law. Furthermore, he read a semester at Jianqiao University in Shanghai, where he completed a course in international negotiation techniques.

Strengths

Lars has a thorough and structured approach to everything and leave as little as possible to coincidences. He has a fresh insight on the market and an ability to turn things upside down when they are deadlocked, which opens new opportunities to reach the goal.

Philosophy

You must be present in everything you do. It produces fewer misunderstandings and more success for all parties involved. With a foundation of a steel firm commitment, an inner joy and the right choice of collaborators, you have the right start to realize your dreams.

Reidar Møistad

Reidar Møistad joined people in sport august 10th, 2016, and serves as country manager for women’s handball, Norway.

Background:

Reidar has a background in marketing and more than 20 years of experience within the IT-industry before he decided to focus solely on handball in 2006. He is educated at the highest coaching level in Europe and certified EHF Master Coach. He has head-coaching experience from Norway (Gjøvik Håndball), Poland (Energa AZS Koszalin) and Denmark (København Håndbold). Further coaching experience includes Norway’s National Youth Team, Norway’s National B-team, assistant coach in Storhamar Håndball Elite and with three Youth Team international finals and participated in four seasons of European cups.

Strengths:

Reidar thrives on building strong relations. Through 11 years of domestic and international handball experience he has created a strong network of players, coaches and leaders. Reidar believes that nothing is impossible if we dare to dream it and work hard.

Philosophy:

It is the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting. You achieve more with a smile on your face.
